This seems like a pertinent question that a lot of us struggle with.

My nephews and nieces have asked me to talk to their children about the dangers of war, drugs, and violence, as i taught them when they were children only arms dealers win if there is war.  Everyone else suffers so they can gain power and wealth to control their political and social agenda.

Right, don't buy what is not right.
That is stop your financial support and all support of the Petro-Dollar-War Politics and war Machine.
That is get off the grid as soon as you can so you aren't buying electricity and thus supporting the energy war machine.
Don't vote for any politician who is not against any and all war.
Don't buy crap news, that is TV, brainwash movies about war heroism, poor worker class heroism and any poor servdom heroism, and violent movies. THis includes newspapers.
Find work that doesn't support the petro dollar war machine, but that supports positive things like alternative healing / detoxing, self sufficiency, cheap building techniques, your own radio station, etc.
Move your money to local credit unions! So your money is not in the too big too fail banks and is not abused for negative power purposes. Look up: move your money.
Buy food from Local organic Farmers.
Do things cooperatively with friends, that is cooperative buying of lots of solar panels from China for example, or cooperative finances, or cooperative buying of land, or pay your friend doctore to look after your health and save up your healt insurance premium for possible hard times, rather than paying a high insurance and paying huge fees to the BIG pharma ceuticals promoting doctors and "health system".
There just a few suggestions, you get the picture, much more can be done.
Like meditation, clear you mind and your body from toxins, be a positive loving influence in this world. LOVE IS, unlove is an action and effort that obstructs love, understand how and relax the effort to support lovelessness.
Oh and one last thing, every dollar saved is 3 dollars earned. That is if you don't earn 3 dollars, of which one goes to the tax man, one goes to transport and other cost, and one dollar is left over to buy food with, but instead you grow food worth one dollar. You see how you can earn less but eat more this way? If your earn less you also pay less tax dollars of which One Trillion per year is used for wars.  See we are not powerless at all. The working class creates all the wealth now the working class should not let the "elite" take the fruits of their work and direct it to destructive purposes.
