Poll: What is "Not-Two Is Peace" calling us to do?
(posted in Global Cooperative Forum)
To be honest, I am hesitant about discussing this book in the context of the gritty realities of what goes on in the world.  I'd rather contemplate abstract ideas in the book, and be hopeful that it will all magically change. But I can't help wondering if that is sufficient.  What is this book ACTUALLY calling us to do?  Please share your thoughts.

Mr. Wide

Peace is hard.  It shouldn't be, but "realistically" it is, in these times.  We have war.  WAR.  That's what we have.  Generally Americans and "westerners" don't realize that.  It's all abstract.  Until we collectively as a GLOBAL (and not tribal) voice end war itself; until the worker/slave "soldiers" can actually lay down their weapons (safely, hopefully, because they do it collectively, make an stand and not get scapegoated); until some BASIC education, deprogramming and gradual sanity can be made, we have no hope for a human future.  This is so.  And that's that.  This statement is about everybody-all-at-once power-- the real power.

Sorry, it seems everybody is missing the point of "prior unity" and the teachings of Adida . the teachings are that they is no such thing as an individual ...and yet everyone is having the illusion of being an 'individual" this IS the whole problem . the Truth of the matter is that there IS only ONE 'Being" manifesting as all (so called) beings ( humanes) . The PRIOR UNITY of the huamn race is that it  IS what is called "Consciuos Light"  or GOD materializing and manifesting "It -Self " AS the "Humane " race in order to experience and know It-Self in the "play" of its own  Creation . We ARE God ,but have "forgotten" by becoming "entangled " and IDENTIFIED with the physical body and the 'bio-computer "brain and use that "activity" as the illusiomary  "piont of view"  or "individual" instead of PRIOR consciousness and natural INTUITION which is of God or "Universal Mind" . There is only ONE "Universal Mind"  and only "One" "Universal Consciounness ,and "IT" IS our very own True SELF prior to thought (or in Truth  which IS just memory) .... When each Humane "Returns' back to their True and Natural "Prior"  State of the 'One" Consciousness then there will be ONE "united 'AWARENESS" ( even as different people) ONE awareness IS Peace and "Not Two IS Peace " ... There IS only "One Being" and the 'We" that we assume to be are ALL "It", all and all and every-one.

Hi spiriteye,

The interesting part for me is how the philosophy gets incarnated into daily living, daily relationships, daily decisions.

Speaking generally, I've noticed that people sometimes get caught up in appreciating the beauty of this or that philosophy but have trouble actually living on the basis of it, or are perhaps blind to the fact that their actions do not match their philosophy.

So getting back to the poll question, are there any outward, obvious actions that the book seems to be calling us toward?  Often we cannot fulfill these actions without also incarnating the more "internal" teachings, so to speak.  Thus it's often by fulfilling outer disciplines in cooperation with others that we really see where we are at in terms of these teachings.

Meditation is the way and the answer ,there is only ONE Self and "everyone IS "it" , at ******.org there is a picture of Adia under the picture is a very important statement ; he IS  everyones already  true state if He is god then so is everyone else , do people read or do they just look at the pretty pictures? adida IS the possibility of all mankind , ALL the great world teachers have taught this Jesus, The Buddha, Lao-Tzo , Yogananda , Socrates ,Plato , Emerson . the common thread is : I (we) are the possibility of all mankind-come follow me (us ) . to be with the teacher IS to be with your VERY Self and to be with your inner TRUE Self is to be with the Teacher, Adida has said this many many times .Quote" Understand and be with Me, if this is not possible in you, then be with me and understand "  understand what? that you ARE already God! as He is but you have "contracted "( your self awareness )into thinking you are the body and brain ,you are not flesh and brains ...you are eternal spirit ....this IS the teachig of all the great world teachers . everything seems to be the very thing Adida warns against ..becoming a Cult Worship . simple to be in the presence of God ,inner or outer (Adida) there is no emotion or seeking..simply love to be in that state ,or with the teacher, and everything happens by itself . ITS NOT ABOUT LEARNING OR DOING SOMETHING OR ANY ACTION  ITS ABOUT ACTUAL EXPERENCE. hope this is not a problem but, i have a website at www.guardiantext.org which is not well written but will explain everything,  an updated version will be coming in a month or two , i just took it upon myself to teach as everyone seems so confused on many issues . you can contact me at spiriteye@nethere.com  if there are any problems , this forum is not going in the true esoeric direction as Adi would have it . very sincerely and with respect .. .. i most likely will not login any more times. sorry!

The idea that "we're all one", and therefore we don't have to do anything, is definitely one point of view we can take in response to the book Not-Two Is Peace, or any similar book.

Even if I don't entirely agree with what you say, I appreciate your contribution.

"What is this book ACTUALLY calling us to do?"

I'm a little passed halfway through the book.  My life has already been improved by adopting the idea that seeing ourselves as separate from others is the onset of war.  Seeing ourselves as one with others is the onset of peace.  The epiphany that came to me was: We are at all times either at war with others, or, we are at peace.

Under this clarity, I realized that I have been "at war" with my wife for the entire 27 years we've been married - I have seen us as two "very different" people.  And, I have seen my kind as superior to hers.  This is not a position of love, but of war... and I see now that I want to enjoy perpetual peace and love with her and everyone else.

Now, I practice seeing us as one.  When she says something with which I would normally disagree or criticize, I think to myself, "That is what one of us sees from OUR perspective."  And I imagine what in her life would bring her to say or believe what she does, and I =accept= it as a valid perspective that we share.  By doing so, I am freed from the spirit of condemnation or judgment.  We now enjoy much more peace this way.  My intention is to extend this to others as well.

So, to answer the question, one of the things Adi Da is challenging us to do is to see "we" where we normally see just "I", to "be one", to operate from the perspective of "prior unity" - otherwise we step into the false world of competing egos which leads to decay and death.

If we wish to see peace in the world, we must first create it in our own hearts by becoming one with those around us.  That appears to me to be what NTIP is asking us to do.

Found it!  Adi Da's Call to Action.

In the last two paragraphs of XIV-3 Adi Da gives us the What, Who and How:

What:

"The powerlessness of egoic individualism must be replaced by an inherently powerful positive collective, that is rooted in right principles, that simply says how things are going to be, and that unequivocally stops allowing itself to be subordinated to what is not right.  Effectively, that is what must happen."

The Who and How:

"How is that to happen? What must, first, be done to enable that happening to become self-manifested is a morally-enlightened and selfless service, that must be enacted by the cooperative effort of a unique group of responsible and capable individuals--who are hereby addressed, and whose response is hereby both informed and requested.  The necessary first response and all-enabling service must come from those unique individuals who know how to connect with everybody-all-at-once.  If there are enough such everbody-all-at-once-enabling individuals, a reality-connection to the present-day billions of humankind can be readily and directly made.  Once that is done, the billions of humankind can (by means of an immediately established right and true Global Cooperative Forum) simply insist that right order be brought into the human domain.  Only that would be a demand that would, by unavoidable necessity, have to be respected--and, as a matter of unavoidable obligation, served."

What I believe he is saying is this:

What:
The egotistic/individualist path of war (personal up through international) must be collectively abandoned by all humankind and replaced with an acceptance of our unity as a species and coupled with each individual shouldering the responsibility for our mutual best interest in all things.  Mankind must renounce war on all levels and proclaim "right-order" (peace and justice) for all.

Who:
Internet-savvy people who see the need for what must happen.

How:
Cooperatively work together to do three things:
1. Create a Global Cooperative Forum online,
2. Use it to connect everyone, all at once, and
3. Everyone-all-at-once then insists on the implementation of peace and justice for all.

-------

Admin,

I believe NotTwoIsPeace.info is the perfect forum for cooperatively fleshing out, planning and achieving those three goals.

Love Always,

Human1

Thanks for the comments Human1.

I liked what you said about learning to see things from others' points of view.  A very useful reminder for me.

I personally find the participation on this website very inspiring, though obviously this site is lacking two things:

1) a few minor technical improvements to make it easier for people to be informed when there is a good discussion happening on the site, similar to the notification options Facebook offers, and

2) some advertising so that people know that this site exists.  (I've been holding back on this, for a few reasons.)

also:

3) the existence of actual courses on Not-Two Is Peace that anyone can take, and the existence of a Creative Commons license for the book.  Currently, the copyright holder only authorizes an organization that calls itself Da Peace (http://da-peace.org ) to offer courses in exchange for money*, but it's to be seen how soon that organization will offer courses to the people of the world.  And I am not sure what the status is on a possible Creative Commons license for the book.

* Actually, the Laughing Man Institute is also authorized, but only for a very limited audience.

The good news is I should have time soon to work on #1 and #2, and I am confident things will start happening with #3.
